Fast Light Update (Indefinite Haitus)

It's been a while since the last Fast Light journal entry so here's an update on what's going on.

  1. I realized through session 6, that I had been using the old momentum burn rules from the original Ironsworn system. Going forward from there, I start using the rule as it is meant from Ironsworn: Starforged.

  2. The long pause came up because I've been busy and priorities have been elsewhere. I also wanted to wait until I could get my hands on the physical hard-copies of Starforged before I continued playing (as of today, shipping is still delayed for my region). I find it easier to look up moves, oracles, and rules with the physical books and reference guides than having 10 windows and tabs open on my computer. I only have so much monitor space.

  3. Finally, as a solo player journaling my playthrough, this game (as I've been doing it) has been a massive time sink. I spend long hours going through a single session to produce 5 minutes of reading material in a narrative format. I'm not a writer by trade, and writing things down the way I have been is time consuming for me (I'm not very quick and have a tendency to overthink). As such, progression and development in the story feels slow, sometimes downright sluggish, from my perspective. For my enjoyment, I've switched to taking basic notes about what's happening and note down important move rolls. Basically, I'm making rough outlines. If I feel like it, I will later take these notes and reformat them into a more detailed, narrative format. But for now, I just want to play!

That's the latest. Apologies to anyone that was following the story and waiting for more. Someday, perhaps, I'll get back to sharing Grayson and Aeronia's adventures.
